Television first came in 1930’s. Since then, millions of child had grown up in front of TV sets and the generations waere affected at all. When words were created, thousands of years before until television came, people depended on words to understand the world and history. Thousands of years past, people had built up abstract thinking on word system. Of course, television brings us many benefits. We can learn better and more easily on TV. We can view through satellite and television on what is happening in the world with our own eyes. It cannot deny, shock and in time information impact our traditional concepts and values which accelerate our change. What is the greatest change of us? We weaken our abstract thinking. Comparatively, TV let we absorb information more efficient than book, but it is superficial. Therefore, TV can let us get information but cannot let us gain knowledge. Knowledge is pondered information. Authors always deeply express their pondered thinking in their books but TV programs cannot express these thinkings which are restricted by time. In this cause, books have more time and space for people to ponder and criticize. As a result, audience can gain knowledge in books but not in TV. No doubt that, TV is more entertaining than books, it is so attracting. It brings superficial, instant reflection and excessive emotions to society. It forms images and excessive emotions. Our society has so much information but less knowledge, so much new ideas but less pondered thinking. TV expresses true in montage, the true where we interpret as truth. Hence we are living in our delusion.
